About RSS Feeds and Podcasting
RSS is an acronym for Really Simple Syndication and Rich Site Summary. It is an XML-based format for sharing and distributing Web content. It's an excellent way for Internet users to get updated news content and online articles. The content you want is automatically delivered to you.
To view RSS feeds, you need an RSS reader (also called an aggregator), which downloads and displays RSS feeds for you. A number of free and commercial News Aggregators are available for download. Many aggregators are separate, "stand-alone" programs; other services will let you add RSS feeds to a Web page. NewsGator, Bloglines, Rojo and Google Reader are examples of well-known aggregators. The latest versions of the popular web browsers Internet Explorer and Firefox and Appleās Safari now incorporate RSS feeds into their bookmark programs.
Podcasting is a method of publishing audio and video broadcasts on the internet allowing users to subscribe to feeds (i.e. RSS) of new audio and video content and automatically downloading it to their PC or portable audio device. Special software such as Juice or iTunes is required. You may also download content to your cell phone or mobile device. .mobi is a top-level domain dedicated to delivering the internet to mobile devices via the Mobile Web.
To subscribe to a feed, click on the orange symbols below and copy the web address to your aggregator or podcast software. You may also subscribe to our audio and video content by using the icons at the bottom right of each player. This is also where you will fine the .mobi links if you would like to download content to your cell phone.
